making work simple
we want to share the exact foundation behind leap work and how we create safe valuable opportunities for students to learn real professional skills.
we want to be transparent about how we build opportunities. we already published our structural system online at leapwork.in/framework, but we want to take the time to explain the complete legal and operational foundation. our goal is to ensure that every parent, student, and partner understands exactly how we operate. we believe in creating clear pathways that respect your time and potential.
the legal framework in India keeps students under eighteen safe by preventing them from taking regular cafe employment positions. we fully support these protections. to help students learn safely, we work within the apprentices act of nineteen sixty one. this law allows young people from the age of fourteen to become registered apprentices in approved trades like food and beverage service. this system provides structured learning hours, a mandatory stipend, clear safety guidelines, and a formal educational curriculum.
our operations run through two specific organizations to maintain safety and compliance. the first company is leap work, which acts as company a. leap work manages the technology product, the app, the website, the brand, digital onboarding, marketing, and the secure storage of parental consent. leap work takes a platform commission, and it stays clear of employing students or signing cafe contracts. the second company is ibbe edu llp, which acts as company b. ibbe edu llp is registered on apprenticeshipindia.gov.in as the single principal employer. ibbe edu llp signs all client and venue agreements, receives all cafe payments, pays stipends directly to students, and carries the full legal and labour liability. both of these companies are currently finalizing their registrations, and they will be completely registered before september two thousand twenty six, well ahead of our very first pilot batch.
when a student joins the platform, the process is straightforward and transparent. parent approval is collected digitally and stored securely by leap work. ibbe edu llp then registers the student as an official apprentice under the food and beverage service trade on the government portal. the student is matched with a partner cafe, and a simple one page venue agreement is signed with that specific cafe. the student learns directly on the job within legal limits, follows the standard national council for vocational training curriculum, receives a monthly stipend paid by ibbe edu llp, and earns an official government recognized certificate at the end of their journey.
partner cafes and regulatory officials can feel completely confident in this approach. the cafes are treated as venues rather than employers, so they stay clear of managing individual compliance or registering on the portal. if a labour inspector visits a venue, the cafe team simply shares the venue agreement and points to the official apprentice registration. all formal paperwork and compliance responsibilities rest with ibbe edu llp. we are also preparing to collaborate on endorsements and pilots with industry associations and the national skill development corporation to bring even more confidence to this legal base.
safety is the absolute foundation of everything we build. students only participate in safe, regular cafe environments without dangerous equipment or late night shifts beyond what the law permits. their working hours are strictly capped, they receive a mandatory stipend, and they focus on a documented training plan rather than random odd jobs. parents can see the exact venue, the specific hours, and the complete legal setup through the platform, and they remain in full control with the ability to stop participation at any time. we are also growing our vision beyond cafes to offer even more diverse learning paths, and you can explore these updates at go.leapwork.in/2y4hvq as we continue to make practical learning accessible to everyone.
